Funny story re: our brakes

OK, so Les was driving to town today and I needed him to drop something off at the kisok so he drove by, handed me the packet and then left but by the time he got to the end of the road his brakes in the truck totally failed  He had to drive to the office using the handbrake and foot fully on the brake as well. After he parked for about 30 mins he went out to check on the truck - all was fine. We have been waiting for our mechanic to call and guess what he told us to do - now that it is OK he told us to drive it in 2nd gear so we won't have to use the brake so much - only on STJ :D

Sounds like the same mechanic that I used. Same diagnosis and advice.

I really love the puzzler... But the car advice is pretty solid too. Second gear is a good idea, honestly for that type of island. Its terrible on the clutch, since you need to put so much gas and accelleration into just the slightest speed, but it does keep you from going too :-p.

As an automotive service manager, Chip is more than qualified to fix your brakes and will do it for a few nights accomodations. He will even hike with the dogs.
