John Wooden, a great basketball coach and an even better man, passed away yesterday. This video illustrates the heart of the man. There is no basketball in this video, only a great message.

It's not unusual to hear glowing tributes from a coach's former players, but the sheer breadth from which the tributes for John Wooden came, removes any and all doubt about their veracity.

And the truly amazing thing is that as accomplished as he was as a basketball coach (and it's not a stretch to say that he is, and will always remain unmatched when judged by his accomplishments in that area), almost universally he is lauded first and foremost as a great person.

A true class act that the world was better for him having been in it.
