What have been the reviews on Happy Fish Sushi at Marketplace? Are there any other sushi options?
Thanks.

I don't know if things have changed but I was there a few years back. The food was great BUT they were running Karate movies on the flat screens and the music was extremely loud and not my type of music (rap Hiphop) wasn't the ambiance I like for a meal.

when we were there last year, we did take out. We had our 18 month old daughter with us, so it was much easier! The food was delicious though! It's a must visit for us when we are there

The food is great and they have some interesting "martini" choices. The last few times my group was there they played techno music and had Godzilla and martial arts movies on their TVs. It's a young, funky kind of place so that doesn't bother me at all! I always think it's kinda fun and different.(I'm in my 50's and apparently never act my age.)

Where is it located? And does anybody know if they are always busy? We have a large group that all love sushi - this would be a fun night out!

NCSue - It's upstairs from Starfish Market. You get a
lovely view of their dumpsters if you sit outside on the balcony. LOL!

We eat at Happy Fish A LOT! I really started going there when I met my husband. He is a pescetarian and even though neither of us ever ate sushi, it quickly became of favorite place to go out to eat. We sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs were patient with us and took the time to explain everything to us, make suggestions based off of our like, and now they know us so well that we don't even have to order. I have never found sushi anywhere else that even compares to what we get at Happy Fish. Nate, the owner, is very picky about his ingredients. It is a logistical nightmare to get stuff here and I've known him to shut the place down if they don't get product that doesn't meet his standards.
Happy Fish is hugely popular with the locals and the place can get pretty packed. If you have a large group, and you want to eat around 7pm, make a reservation. I have heard some complain about having to wait for their food to arrive, but this is to be expected considering the kind of food they serve. Nate is a perfectionist and I for one would much rather have a great meal that takes more time than to have a fast not so great tasting meal.
They are a very "hip" kind of crew over there. They have the movies playing, but not with sound. They do play a wide range of music, it kind of depends on who is working that day on what will be played. I've found the staff to be attentive and very pleasant.
I also like it because there is plenty of parking. The inside is A/C and they keep it pretty cool in there. I have thin blood, so I bring a jacket, but most people would find it comfortable. Not sure where you are getting a view of the Dumpster, but the outside balcony tables are along the side of the building so there is not much of a view except of the road that leads between the lower and upper parking. They don't have any tables on the front balcony that is over the lower parking lot any more, but I don't know why that is.
Happy Fish, second level of the Marketplace. Park in the upper lot, it is on that level. Their phone number is 340-776-1717. Currently they are closed on Sundays. During high season they are open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30am until 2pm and nightly from 5pm - ?. They only do take out from 5-6pm for dinner (they usually get too busy to accommodate both dine in and take out after that).

We ate at Happy Fish on our last trip....it was great, I would highly recommend it. It wasn't busy while we were there, though it may have been a bit early for the sushi crowd...i think we ate around 6ish.

Great...thanks for all the reviews...definitely going to give it a try one of the nights. Should be on island in a little over 48 hours.
