Trip planning through the eyes of a 4 year old....

Our 15th anniversary trip is quickly approaching and we we have been talking to our 4 yo about what we will do, see, where we will eat and such. This will be his 5th STJ trip so he remembers places and beaches. Discussing it with him has been a hoot!

His contribution to and question about trip planning so far -

Is there a pirate store at the pirate place? We are visiting Blackbeard's Castle prior to STJ. He is still pushing for mom to dress like Elizabeth from Pirates of Caribbean and thinks a trip to the pirate store will convince me.

Is the boat to STJ a shoes-off or shoes-on boat? He remembers having to take his shoes off on our day trip but not on the water taxi.

He wants to stay at the house with the truck, not on the beach. When I said "we were staying on the beach" he processed it as we were sleeping ON the beach, not under a roof. (The house with the truck was our last rental, the owners kept a big Rover under the carport.)

Will he see a shark? A turtle? Beach chickens? (hopefully not, hopefully, yes)

Are we (mom and dad) getting married again?
He understands we visited STJ after our wedding for our honeymoon and this being a big anniversary trip, thinks we can't possibly go again without getting married again first.

Will I wear the princess dress on the trip
(wedding dress) because it looks like Elizabeth's dress....?

We could all learn something from your kid. Very cute! By the way, are you going to wear your Princess Dress?

I bet it would look smashing with Ruth's chicken hat....maybe you could borrow that from her?

I won't be wearing THE princess dress but I did agree to take along a long white dress (a cover-up from Lands End) and wear my "pirate" jewelry at least once.

I didn't even think about a renewal.

Take him to the pirate shop in CA - it's across the street from the ferry dock. All sorts of "play" pirate gear in there!
