We are using Christopher taxi to get to Red Hook. Do you tip Christopher, and if so, how much? I am only asking because I assume it's his business and I've been told you don't tip the business owner just the hired hands. Not trying to be cheap, just don't want to spend money needlessly.

I understand your point of view as is relates to owners of businesses.

We did tip Christopher but then again, we tip drivers in the city without knowing whether or not they are the owners of the cab.

There is a chance you may be driven by one of his drivers.
