Approximately how many cars can park at the entrance of Francis? Are there portable toilets there or do you need to use the Maho campground facilities?

Thanks.

yes there is an outhouse--as for the number of cars --it sort of depends!--in the lot proper? 8? 9? 10? then folks often park up along the road that leads to the lot.

There are portable toilets at the parking lot. I would guess that there are about 10-12 spaces in the parking lot, another 6-8 places on the road to the parking lot and another 10 spaces at the Francis Bay Trail trailhead which is a short walk on a relatively flat terrain to Francis Beach parking lot.

It depends on if the drivers know how to park. If you get smart drivers that understand who to maximize space, probably 5 or so on each side? Maybe more?

We encountered the not-so-smart drivers this last trip and therefore, no parking at the lower lot.

The outhouse at Francis may be the nastiest one I ever encountered.

I've never counted cars but my guess would be somewhere around 20-24 Jeeps might be parked along the road and in the parking area of Frances Bay. And there is a porta-potty there. I would want to use the thing unless I had an 'emergency' but there is one there.

Depends how you get there...if you go all the way out the North Shore road to where you hit that intersection that has Leinster to the right and go left towards Francis, you'll find a few parking lots as you get closer to Francis.

If memory serves, the lot that is only a few steps from the beach probably has around 10 spots and it also has a pretty big Port-A-Potty. But if it's full, it's only a short walk from there to the next lot that probably has 10 to 15 more spots.

Francis doesn't have parking like Cinnamon, Hawk, or Trunk, but it's still a decent amount.

Also, I think the first lot you come to on the way to Francis is more for people who want to take the nature trail near Francis to go bird watching.

On our first trip, we made the mistake of parking their, when we could have parked much closer. Still, it's all pretty close.

There's also a way to park at Maho and walk over to Francis via a trail that takes you by Little Maho I believe.
