We woke up in a cloud this morning on Mamey Peak and to a bit of rain in the early morning hours but by 8 things were beginning to clear so we packed up and drove out to Vie’s. As we drove out we could see that the wind and waves were up in Sir Frances Drake Channel so we decided that we had made a good decision to choose a beach other than one on the Northshore. We were the first ones on the beach so we chose our spot and got set up. The sun came out and it was a beautiful day out on the East End. More people arrived. Why do people decide to plop down right next to you when there’s a whole beach to choose from? And why in the world do people choose to play their music and annoy others arount them with it? They did turn it off after a while to our relief. We had our lunch at Vie’s Shack and by 2PM we were getting a little crispy we decided we had had enough sun for the day and we packed up our stuff and went back to the villa to shower. It was pretty windy all day and we were too lazy to snorkel.
We needed gas so we drove into town and went straight to the mad house that is the one and only gas station on the island (still no gas in Coral Bay) and then a quick stop at Starfish for sandwich fixin’s for tomorrow. With the meat and cheese in the cooler we found a place to park and decided ribs at Uncle Joe’s Bar-B-Q was our meal of choice tonight and it didn’t disappoint. We wondered around a bit after dinner and stopped to pick up my jewelry at Patton’s before they closed. It was a beautiful evening in town. We drove the Northshore Road home. The bugs and frogs are chirpin like mad tonight. Love that sound!!
We’re thinking that tomorrow’s beach might be Lameshur. We’ll see how we feel in the morning.
