We will be in Coral Bay on Mother's Day and we were planning on having breakfast at The Donkey Diner. However, I notice on their website that they will be closed that day.
As a newbie can anyone recommend a good breakfast place in Coral Bay?
Thanks

Concordia or Maho Bay Campground? Maho has one of my favorite breakfasts and both have killer views.

Wow. I'm surprised that Donkey Diner will be closed. We had breakfast there several years ago on Mother's Day. Had just kind of fiqured that's what we would do next week also. There really are not any other Sunday Coral Bay breakfast places that I remember, other than Miss Lucy's brunch. We'll probably picnic on Lamesure or Salt Pond, followed by either Shipwreck later, or the Mother's Day party on Hanson Bay that STJ Julie posted earlier."Shun and shift" is the best plan.

I'll be at Miss Lucy's for Jazz brunch. I highly recommend it. It will be myself and 7 others - so, maybe, we'll meet while we're both on island.

Oh, definitely Miss Lucy's for Sunday Jazz Brunch! What a relaxing way to start a Sunday - just sets the tone for the whole day! While I love Donkey Diner's breakfasts, I think the atmosphere and setting at Miss Lucy's would suit better for a Mother's Day celebration!

Another vote for Miss Lucy's!
I like the idea of a picnic brunch on the beach though!
Salt Pond is a bit of a hike but there are some picnic tables in the shade if you get there early enough to snag one.
Followed by the Drunk Bay hike (easy) for a dramatic finish would be great.
Just bring plenty of water for the hike back up the hill from Salt Pond. It's a BITCH when it gets hot in the middle of the day!

You know, Gromit, that trek back up from Salt Pond kind of caught us by surprise the first time we went down there but never seemed to phase us after that first time.
BT just informed me that she'd prefer peanut butter and jelly and a couple of cold Caribs on some beach, somewhere. She likes to stop at Lucy's occasionally for a snack and a tasty beverage, but isn't enamored with the Sunday brunch. Cheap date!

Miss Lucy's is the place to be but I'm sure it will be packed with people. I suggest you e/ither go early ~9:30 to get a place to park or go late to avoid the worst crowds.

I'll be going to the beach party/fish fry at Hansen Bay Campgrounds. Here is the earlier post,

It's always a ton of fun with great food, drink, music, and people. It starts at 10:30 am and goes until 6:30 pm, so even if you go someplace else earlier, you can still come to this party. Just enjoy the beach, or have drinks, or food, or all three. Happy Mother's day to all of you moms!
