Impressions so far this week.....

Been here since Sat, great as usual...here are a few observations:
Cruzan rum is really cheap at Starfish, $4.99/bottle light or dark for the 2year old stuff, good enough for daiquires (sp?). Dolphin was $8 I think, the store outside Rhumblines was the same I recall.
There are alot of white arrows on the roads all over the island....weren't here last year, guess it keeps the turkeys on the correct side of the road.
The water clarity is really awesome. Last year was tough with the algea plume.
We ran into the local celebrity captain brandy in Cruz last night.
That's funny, we ran into him at soggy's last year, hey John, you're everywhere!
Traffic circle, is it done?? On Saturday there were all kinds of construction stuff around it, by Monday all this stuff was gone and it looked done? go figure...
For years we didn't go to Francis, but the last few years we keep going back, and we like this beach alot more every time we go back there. The views facing toward north shore are awesome.
We hiked from Lamshur to Petroglyphs this morning. As another poster told us, it's hot, you need water, it was an hour in and an hour back, plus 30 min of exploring around. We started at 8:20am, would have gotten there earlier if our son had gotten out of bed. Its a nice hike, trails are nicely maintained, and easy to find. We did stop at the Reef Bay Great House, what is this place? The swim at the end was the reward.
Seem to be more sail boats than ever in Coral Bay.
Grande Bay in Cruz is really big, ok, it's an eyesore, but I suppose its none of our business, we're just visitors. The locals have to control that type of development, that's our system of government. So, its not up to us to complain, its the american way I guess.
Hardly any bugs, we got lucky this year. In fact, during the hike this morning I don't think we saw one bug land on us! Even at the beach late afternoons, the sand fleas haven't been bad.
heading out to spend afternoon at Trunk, winds from south, should be like a lake there.....all for now!
