Take him to STJ!

Well, having just celebrated my 50th on STJ, I can attest to the fact that I really wanted nothing more. No gifts, just a beautiful week of sun, sand, food, drink. We did have a "fancy" dinner at Sweet Plantains, but other than that, the best gift was just being there.

Sunset sail
Fishing charter
Massages at the villa
Personal chef for a special dinner

Those are some general options. What does your husbdn like to do/not to do?

Have a BIG party and invite us all! :D

What does he like? A sunset sail is nice and romantic.

Maybe Ruth will let you borrow her Pirate Wench costume.

Okay, I'll try to be serious. We have ended up on St. John for more of my husband's birthdays in the past 10 years than not, so I have had to come up with ideas on several occasions. Here are a few thoughts:

Caneel Buffet or a private dinner in their sugar mill ruins. They will even make you a birthday cake if you contact them.

Private Chef at your villa.

A progressive dinner on his birthday - appetizer and drinks at one place, dinner at another, dessert at another.

If there is something at one of the shops or by one of the local artists that you know he'd love, contact them in advance and I bet most of them will prepare a wrapped gift that you can take him into the store and surprise him with.

A private day sail or sunset sail with champagne, just the two of you.

In villa massages.

If none of those pan out, call Ruth about that costume.

Enjoy a private sunset sail while the chef is preparing dinner at the villa.

I wore a chicken hat on my 50th birthday and it was a lot of fun.
I still have it. Stop by!
