anyone leaving soon and worried about USAIR delays?

I noticed that today's and yesterday's direct flights from PHL to STT were 8 and 9 hours late. Apparently due to some kiosk problem? I just don't see how a kiosk (or lack thereof) can delay a flight for that long... Anyone else out there have any insight on what happens when the worst airline (USAIR) meets the worst airport (PHL)? USAIR's website charactizes this as a minor delay - but a delay that almost makes me miss the last ferry to STJ doesn't seem minor to me. We're leaving on Thursday and this is starting to worry me... My husband left from Philly this afternoon to fly to Germany on USAir. It wasn't just the kiosks that were having problems it was also the check-in computers, it took my husband forever to get checked in. I would print out your boarding pass at home, the delays should be over by tomorrow or so they say

I hate to hear these bad reports about USAir. After the 8 hour delay last year on AA I did not want to fly them again but they did give us lots of miles and we booked with them for this year and will be upgrading to first class with those extra miles. I would rather fly USAir as AA does not have a non-stop to STT. I am already worried about San Juan losing my luggage. It seems they are notorious for that. Maybe they are bitter that we are only flying through PR? I mean, how do you lose that much luggage? I think all the airlines are having problems lately. We, as consumers have to sit there and take it until we can afford private charters. Hey-there is an idea....
Sorry about your luggage Waterguy. Did you have trip insurance?

We always carry-on. There's no way I'd trust them with my bag. They have a hard enough time just getting the passengers there!

Hi All
I am watching the morning Philly news and they just announced another day of computer meltdown at Philly. They are asking people to print boarding passes at home. It looks like delays are over, now people are just missing their flights while they stand in lines downstairs trying to get a paper ticket sigh
I do not think there is a good domestic airline anymore.
