We have a group of 8 and are planning a day trip to the Baths and Jost VanDyke. Most boats that can handle our group seem to more expensive. It seems that Ocean Runners is a reasonably priced option. Does anybody have any experience with Ocean Runners. My wife and I have been to The Baths before but none of the other 6 in the group have and for some of them this may be the only time they get to visit the BVIs.

Thanks for your input.

Hi, our famiily has rented from Ocean Runner on three separate occasions. We liked their Makos and have chosen to captian ourselves around STJ and to Waterlemon Cay. When we wanted to go to the Baths, we hired a captain through Ocean Runner as it is a long haul -- 35 miles I believe. Additionally, if you stop by the day prior to your cruise, you can pick up the immigration paperwork and be prepared to set sail early the next morning. I highly recommend Josh from Louisiana as a Captain. He's a really nice guy. We managed a trip to the Baths, lunch at the Willy T, snorkel at the Indians and a drink at the Soggy Dollar, White Beach Van Jost island in one day. Happy cruisin!

Ocean Runners is a great way to go on a day trip. We've done it several times and always rent the boat with a captain. You can set your own agenda and do a lot on one day on the water. One trip we did we ended up snorkeling at 7 or 8 different locations in one day. Our captain said it was a record number of stops for him. We really just wanted to hit lots of snorkeling spots (we aren't in to bar stops so we didn't even go the Jost and that saves a lot of time). I think we had lunch at the Willy T. If you go all the way to the Baths that's going to take a huge chunk of your day and cost a lot for gas but if that's high on your agenda, go for it. Ocean Runners is a great company and you'll have a memorable day.

Ocean Runners is a good company.Their boats might be a little less expensive because its a bit more no-frills. You bring your own drinks, for example, whereas on some of the other charters drinks are provided. Have always had good experiences with O.R.

We chartered a boat and captain with Ocean Runners last year and would highly recommend it. We had a group of 7 and wanted to have a private charter and found this the best and most affordable way to go. Most of the other charters can only take 6 people and you would have to share the bigger boats with other people and deal with their wants and whims. We went to the Caves, Indians, lunch at the Willy T, Sandy Spit, Foxy's and Soggy Dollar. It was a blast! Our captain was Tom and he was great, we will request him again this year. You can choose where you want to go and what you want to do. This will be a most special day for you and your group!
