Seems like a good excuse to fire up the grill, some skirt steak, St. Johns' Steak rub, glass of red wine... I know, a poor substitute of being on island, but it will just have to do for now!

Figured out another use for the steak spice. With a credit to Rachel Ray ( I don't need a copy right infringement problem). Roasted Broccoli Spears ala St John

One head of broccoli cut into long spears. In a large bowl mix generous amount of EVVO ( Extra Virgin Olive Oil with an equally generous amount of minced garlic ( 6-8 heads), a heaping tablespoon or two of St. John Steak rub and powdered chili pepper. Place on baking sheet and into a 375-400 oven, about 10-15 minutes until nicely roasted. Yumm!

You are making me hungry. We have a snowy situation here today. Luckily I have an 11 year old chef in the making home who had dinner started when we got home about 1/2 hour ago!

I'd be over in a heartbeat if it wasn't a 3 hour drive.

sailorgirl,
That sounds fantastic! I use Cruz Bay Grill Rub for broccoli a lot, but usually I just add CBG, a little oil and a dash of vinegar to leftover cooked broccoli and toss it in the fridge for lunch the next day. (Veggies cost way too much here to waste the leftovers!)
Thanks for this recipe, I'm going to try it.

Waterguy,
Thanks for that info. I'm going to talk to Doug And Fluffy and suggest that The Banana Deck include CBG in their Supa Dupa Make Your Own Bloody Mary Bar setup on Sundays!
I'm glad you enjoyed RickG's shrimp. What are you going to do with the other three and a half bottles of Jerome's Hot Sauce??!
