How roomy are certain rental cars?

Yay, we get to go back to St. John this year in July, and yay, friends are coming too.
Here's my question-we've always rented 2 door jeeps-this time we'll be getting a 4 door vehicle from Conrad Sutton. He lists 4 door Jeep Wranglers, Jeep Libertys, Dodge Nitros all for the same price. Since we're going to be fitting 4 adults and a 13 yr old all in the car plus luggage-anybody have any experience with how roomy any of these might be? I realize the luggage can be a 2 tripper if necessary and we pack really light, but just wondering...
Thanks-ticker soon come!

I think the Nitro would be the roomiest of the ones you've mentioned, followed by the 4-door jeep wrangler.. Ali~

For both our trips we (4 adults) rented a Jeep Liberty and it was roomy without the luggage, a tight fit with luggage. We had four large and four small suitcases plus various carryons. I think you can put two adults and a young teen comfortably in the back seat when you're not transporting luggage.

You didn't list this option but, when we were there with our four kids, we rented a Montero from Conrad Sutton. It was a bit tight but would be perfect for a group of 5.

My complaint about the Liberty is that in the backseat, the visibility is not good because of the way the front seats are. I have not been in a Nitro but we always get the Grand Vitara from Courtesy.

I haven't been in a Nitro, but it is built on Liberty Frame so it will be very similar in size. We rented a Liberty a year or two back and I have been in several four door Wranglers. I think the Wrangler is slightly larger inside both rear seat and cargo room. The liberty/nitro will be a little easier to park and any one of them will get the job done.

Another thing to consider is the ground clearance especially with 5 passengers and luggage. We had both a Liberty and 4 door Wrangler on one trip and the Wrangler easily cleared certain rocks on the unpaved drive to the place that we were staying.

				Thanks all for the info

I've asked for the 4 dr wrangler. I hadn't thought about ground clearance and we do like to go to Lameshur- if you saw the videos I posted of that road-ground clearance is key. Let the planning begin!
