The Frugal Traveler from the NY Times has a bunch of tips in this article about flight sites etc. - probably none of them you guys don't know about! The comments are sort of interesting regarding how much time one can spend doing this though...

Well ya'll no I'm all about frugal. Ya can't beat Kayak for ease of use, that's all ya need as far as I'm concerned . I do need to check out that Yapta site though sometime.

I am as frugal as they come! Hubby calls me cheap though :( I love Kayak but my upcoming trip was booked thru the new tab for Flights on TripAdvisor.com and I got the best fare thru them.

I like TripAdvisor's alerts.

I took a peak at Kayak after reading Anthony's link, and got all excited about a cheap fare with excellent timing -- leaving early morning and arriving midday. Then, when I went to check out the details through Orbitz, it was indeed midday (the NEXT day!). Yipes!

I have been debating about airfare this morning deciding after a $50 increase per ticket (buying 4), should I bite the bullet and buy? So, this article came at a perfect time. Im going for it. Thanks again.
