I know alot of you guys are seasoned JazzFest veterans. I'm considering making my first trip down this year. Have yet to secure housing, etc (yes, I know I'm late).

While I'm dealing with the logistics, I thought I would get tips from the experts: Its been ages since I've been to New Orleans and never for the Fest...so, what to avoid? What not to miss? What to bring...what not to...? Any possible housing tips for the Late to Book Person?

Anyone else going to be down for the second weekend this year?

First weekend of Jazz Fest - Bourbon Orleans Hotel in the French Quarter. You might recognize a few people! That's all I know, Sweet Christine is arranging this one - I'm just bringing my absinthe glass.

What days are you gonna be here?

Let me know what you are looking for as far as where to stay. The city is awesome during fest. It's completely different than the crowd that comes here during Mardi Gras.
