Ted's Supper Club is VERY reasonably priced. Please don't pass up an opportunity to enjoy a private chef because of a misconception that it is "too expensive".

Ted cooked for us last month and it was fantastic !! All those wonderful dishes we were afraid we would never have again.... Prices are totally in line with a night out.

Maryanne - how many people did you have in your party and did everyone order the same thing?
We have wanted to do this for years but, within our group, we have:
Someone who only eats chicken/burger and salad
A beef lover who avoids seafood
3 who will eat anything
2 who will want the type of food (prefer seafood) we can't find at home
Off to email Ted

Ted catered a celebration for us last month. There were 16 of us and we asked for an assortment of hors d'oeuvres. He brought his own cooking implements, and plates, napkins and cutlery for the feast. Then over the next 2 hours he brought out tray after tray of assorted delights. It was unbelievable. Then when we were done he quietly cleaned up and left us to party on... It was very reasonably priced. On top of that he's a great guy and will work with you to create the cuisine that you desire. Can't say enough good things about the experience...

We had Ted cater a dinner party at our friends' villa a couple of years ago. We had a choice of two entrees and apps and he is AWESOME. Such a great guy! We're discussing hiring him for our May trip.

It was great---way more food than we would normally eat out, we realized. There were four of us. I don't eat meat so we did seafood. But he ended up making two different starters, and two different main courses, which was a smart idea, so I don't think it would be a big deal to do what you want, PaG.
The whole hiring of Ted happened because my daughter, before the trip, was lamenting Tage's closing. She said, 'I would seriously give my left pinkie toe for those eggrolls one more time in my life.'
Foot intact, she got to once again have the fantastic asparagus, chicken, avocado eggrolls. He also made a diver scallop app that was perfection. For the main course, he did tuna and the potato-wrapped mahi that I'd always loved at Tage. He served some kind of sauteed avocado patty with it that I wish I had paid more attention to! I would love to know how he made that, but I ate it too quickly to think about its construction!
The people with the tuna were raving about the potato side dish...
Dessert was a chocolate something (see below), which I didn't try, and the white chocolate tarragon souffle, which I did eat and which was really good.
Also, while he was setting up and cooking, he served wonderful little tuna dumplings and something else, I forget what... and he made a focaccia that we honestly couldn't eat because we would have lost our appetites. (It became breakfast).
I felt bad because the dishwasher was broken in our villa but he cleaned everything up quickly and efficiently.
When he arrived, it was apparent that he would take his cue from the customer---if you wanted him to just do his job, he would, in the most professional way. If you wanted to talk, he was charming and a lot of fun.
It was the best meal of our trip, and we had three weeks of some very good meals.
I didn't think to take too many pictures, but here's a dessert.

Was wondering if Ted would also teach how to cook while he's making the meals. My wife wants to take cooking lessons and this may get two birds with one stone (trip to St. John for Valentine's Day, cooking lessons for her birthday).
Does anyone know? I'll contact him if no one is sure...
