Getting sick of winter!

They're calling for up to 2 more feet of snow here in MD.
I went to the grocery store at 8:00 a.m. this morning and had to wait for a parking spot. I think that they should be playing the theme song from Jaws over the loud speakers. Rush hour will start before noon today as the whole world around here, [government, schools and retailers], have announced that they are closing at noon. The snow isn't even going to start before noon!

JT...I hear ya. Why do I feel like I need to prepare for an "event"? We already have plenty of food in our house. I did have to get the cats food, but the preparing is rediculous.
I HATE WINTER! This one has been extremely cruel.
April can't come fast enough for me.
I'm going through our DVD's to see what we can watch tomorrow.
Thank God I made the husband buy a snow blower!
Good luck, keep the fire going and just relax until tomorow afternoon.

Hyperbolic weather prognosticators... 18 feet of snow, huricane winds, sub-zero temps.
I rode the bike to work today.

Yes ,CowGirl, I've got enough seasoned wood to get me through. The power just came back on after being off for about 4 hours. The snow is coming down pretty good and the wind is picking up.We had thunder and lightning with the snow a couple of hours ago.I have a small generator and have cords going every which way. I'll leave them set up until the worst is over. It was pretty weird, as the sky was a series of brilliant blue flashes. There's some predictions of up to 30" before it ends. That's why I think the Saints are gonna win, because it's pretty obvious from here that Hell is freezing over!

I hope everyone stays safe through the storm. We've had an unusually mild winter, for which I am ever so grateful!

Man is it coming down.
The one that cracked me up last night was "ThunderSnow!" Literally they were broadcasting a chance of THUNDERSNOW. WTF is that? I figured I should be scared but I didn't know what of! lol

We had that forecast a couple of weeks ago and got it. It is the freakiest thing I've ever seen/heard. Driving snow, bright flashes and window rattling booms.

I hope all of you who are getting hammered with the snow are doing okay and still have electricity, water and heat. My heart goes out to anyone who has to deal with 2' + snow.
Take care {{{HUGS}}}

Cars on the street look like giant white mushrooms. We skied down the Capitol steps this afternoon. Tele-turns in Montrose Park tomorrow. Damn I miss the hills of Darnestown. Off to CO for a hut trip next month.
This city is paralyzed.

Well, the power went off at12:01 a.m. Saturday, right after I last posted. No power, no telephone, no cable, no running water as we're on a well.It just came back on. Approximately. 30" of snow, 7 degreesF this morning. The wood stove, generator, propane cooking stove, big supply of beer and bottled made for a block party at our house last night. A couple of neighbors had no heat and we managed to get them a couple days worth of firewood I took some pretty cool pics this morning and will post them soon. I sure hope everybody's ok.

Chet,
Are you really coming to CO to hut ski? What huts? You'll have great snow. How fun!
Down here we got a bit of snow today. Enough that I had to take a broom out and sweep it off the walks. But the mountains are getting hit hard.

Terry - I've done a few hut trips. Been to Froelicher, Harry Gates, Janet's twice, and Vance's twice. Got 5 spaces for Vance's 3/27. We'll get aclimated to the altitude and practice tele-turns at A-Basin or Loveland.
