Or, we're coming back to St. John this Spring! We made an offer on an amazing house today. This is my first time house-hunting and buying. I'm soooooo nervous and excited.
Blaine says the worst thing that will happen is that the deal will fall through, and then we can go to St. John this Spring.
Amazingly, either one is okay with me......
Sigh......missing St. John

Congrats Minde! Home buying is fairly scary, but in a good way! I totally understand being happy with either outcome!

We own several homes. It's a good investment. One of our rentals will be paid off soon and it's rental income is $1700/month. Can't wait till it's paid off as that will be totally vacation money until we retire!
You're making a good investment. Congrats to you!

It can be scary... but it's a great investment both financially and emotionally. It's very satisfying to make improvements, no matter how small, to your own home.
Congratulations and keep us posted!

A coworker gave us this tip years ago. Buy a home, live in it for a few years, then buy another home and keep the original home as a rental. Repeat as many times as you can afford. After, you will make enough income off the rentals to offset your mortgage.
Of course when you go to sell your rentals you will have to live in them for 24 our of 60 months to avoid capital gains taxes. That's not a problem in CO. Live in a ski hut for 3-5 months, live at home and repeat.
Just passing on some good investment advise with regard to property purchases.
I know coworkers that own 15 or more homes. CHACHING!

Everyone needs a place to live, but I can think of much better investments than real estate right now.
Do tell!

The market is now a prime time to buy real estate. Interest rates are low. What happen to the theory of buy low, sell high? Of course, you have to be able to have liquid assets also along with your real estate investments. Real estate investments are for the long haul and have historically been a good investment.
I guess the real estate market depends on where you live.
