We will be celebrating my Birthday during our stay on St. John. We usually go to the best restaurant we can find. Could you please make your recommendations.

We went to Zozo's for our anniversary dinner. It was great.

My favorites are Sweet Plaintains in Coral Bay and Rhumblines in Cruz Bay (spicy but yummy!). La Tapa is another favorite of many.

The best dinner we had last January was at The Balcony. We had a great view of St Thomas and the beach in Cruz Bay. Mike had the Ahi Tuna, which he proclaimed the best Ahi tuna he'd ever had. I had the Mango Ribs which were so good and refreshing.....very different. The service was so exceptional..Happy Planning!

Zozos is fabulous! You won't be disappointed. Consider booking your reservation at the bar. You look out over the water at St. Thomas. The view is spectacular and the food and service superb! Waterfront Bistro is also good, but in our opinion, Zozos is head and shoulders above the rest.

I throw my vote in for Zozos. Very good food, great views and shorts are considered perfectly fine (I hate dressing up while on vacation). The place at Caneel (Turtle Estate) requires long pants so we opted not to try that place the last visit.

Happy Birthday! Depending on your mood, take your pick: 1) Da Livio (Italian), 2) The Lime Inn, or 3) The Fish Trap -- truly the best fish and seafood on the island!

In Cruz Bay my two picks are Rhumblines and Waterfront Bistro.

I have to say the best meal we had on the island was at La Plancha del Mar---

We ate at The Equator at Caneel several trips ago and did not think it was worth it and have not returned. I know others have had better experiences there but ours was pretty bad. I wrote a letter describing our unfortunate experience and never heard back, which just made it worse for me.
