BVI/Jost day trip

What would people recommend for a day trip to Jost/BVI for first timers? We are staying on St. Thomas.
The place we most want to see and maximize our time at is Jost/White bay. While the Baths look really neat, does the extra time to get there justify the trip? There are only two of us so an individual charter is probably too pricey.
The main companies we have seen are New Horizons II, Limnos, and Daydreamer.
Thanks for all the advice, this forum is great for new people like us.

Welcome AAhawk!
We have been on the Limnos to the Baths and loved it! But they did not go to JVD on our trip.
We have also taken the ferry over to Jost for the day and had a great time too! A taxi can take you over to White Bay to chill & do lunch. We hung out at Foxy's on the way back to the ferry for the 3p.m. pick-up back to the USVI. Highlight of that trip!
Another idea: Check Palm Tree Charters and see if 2 other couples can go with you and split the cost!
Enjoy the BVI's~

Let me jump in here seeking advice because I was just about to post the same question.
In July, we want to go out with Capt Phil on the Wayward Sailor again. We did the 2 snorkel trip in 2008 and loved it. This is the child's first trip and she's looking forward to meeting capt Phil. We've also never been to Jost.
So...do we do the trip with Capt Phil that includes 1 snorkel and Jost or wait until next time and then go with someone like Palm Tree? Capt Phil takes you to Foxy's, but I think I may want to do Soggy Dollar more.
Toughts? 2 snorkels or 1 snorkel and Foxy's?

SJfromNJ wrote:I like the Island Spirit trip out of the Westin. Includes snacks, beverages, snorkel gear, 1 snorkel stop (last year was Lovango Cay) Foxys for lunch and shopping, then over to White Bay for about 2.5 hours. $99/pp + customs fee. I think the trip is actuall run by Cruz Bay Watersports but it leaves from the Westin.
DANGIT! Now you've gone and added another wrinkle to the trip. That sounds like fun.

@AA Hawk-- the suggestion to take the ferry is a good one esp if you just want to do Jost. This is very easy and do-able adn you end up with about 5 hours or so on Jost.
Sharing a charter or piggy backing onto an existing one is also a good option if it works out that other folks want to head to Jost as well. But that will only offer you flexibility on time with the added advantage of being able to stop along the way for a snorkel.
Unless you desire that flexibility the ferry will give you the biggest bang for the buck IMHO.
So if your goal is to get to Jost and just hang out at Soggy Dollar then take the ferry.

Thanks for all the help. I am thinking we may do the ferry to maximize our time at White Bay.

Any idea how many people can go on the New Horizons II? We have 11 maybe 15!
