My favorite cousin (sorry other cousins! I love you all too) is getting married in April. She and her husband are honeymooning in Nevis, at the Nisbet Plantation. John and I want to give them a wedding gift they can use on their honeymoon--maybe a couples beachfront massage, or a dining certificate, something like that.

So, I am wondering if anyone has been to Nevis, and has a suggestion for a terrific restaurant (that I can get a certificate to or a credit to their hotel for), or a massage recommendation. They are both very experienced boaters, so I would also consider a gift of a boat day if that is even an option (I am not very familiar with Nevis).

Will they have a car? If so I highly recommend Montpelier Plantation for dinner. My husband and I keep at top 10 dinner experiences list and this is still on it, although this was several years ago so hopefully it's still as good. The setting is beautiful. Snorkeling is not very good on Nevis, so if that's a priority I'd say maybe a boat trip to snorkeling sites.

We have been to Nevis many times and its our favorite island, along with St John. (you can have multiple top favorites, right?)

I agree that Montpelier is a wonderful dining experience, as well as a scenic and historic place to visit. They should be sure to go there when its still light because the view of Mt Nevis from the pool area is stunning. The food and service have been wonderful - pricey, but excellent. Havent been for a few years, but they used to have cocktails and appetizers in the great room of the plaintation house, which is nice while you are waiting for dinner to start.

Another great place for dinner is Hermitage Inn. Its also a historic West Indian building and the food, service and setting was awesome.

Unfortunately, the snorkeling is minimal on Nevis, but its a beautiful place to visit. There is some snorkeling on St Kitts (its sister island), and there are some boat trips from Nevis that go there. Can't comment on them.

If your cousin likes gardens, they should visit the Nevis Botanical Gardens - wonderful place.

I know that the Four Season's there has a nice spa for message because I had one there. It was raining that day we stopped in Nevis, so I am not sure if they do it beach side or not.

Unfortunately, Four Seasons is closed for the foreseeable future due to being destroyed by Hurricane Omar, then some type of mortgage issues over the past year. Not sure when it will be open again. The re-opening has been announced several times, then postponed for another 6 months, so I would be wary of buying anything for there.

I did know about the Four Seasons having issues. I knew about the snorkeling also. That's why John and I decided not to visit Nevis, we did some research a couple of years ago and decided it was not for us for that reason.

My cousin has been to St. John a bunch of times because our mutual uncle used to own at Coconut Coast and she would use his weeks...she loves St. John and really loves to snorkel--but she wanted to go someplace that she and her soon to be hubby could experience for the first time together.
