Cruz View question

Ok....hubby is either being CRUEL or trying to keep the wifey (me) happy. He told me he was looking at airfares for the spring to do a st john trip! This after we decided we couldn't swing it this year due to house renovations, etc.

so....we have always said we should *try* cruz views....I have a couple of questions for my seasoned cruz view guests.
1. Has anyone stayed in the "lower ones?" Looks like the upper ones (1-4?) are booked. If so...what is the proximity to the pool. How's the view from the units? I am sure it's amazing!

2. When they say 125 nt/double occupancy.....we are wondering if they charge for our 2 kids...ages 5 and 7. And what the rate would be for the 4 of us if they do charge. Anyone have any experience with a family of 4?

Now the hubby has got me thinking....and hopeful.....We would love to come back to the rock!

I only stayed in the upper unit, but liked it!
I believe that they charge $30 extra per person per night. So that would be $185/night for your family.

We stayed in one of the upper CV units last April for a few nights. Honestly, if/when we stay there again, I'll opt for a lower unit. I found the upper units to be kind of noisy b/c of people at the pool, though I'm sure with kids it would be nice to be able to sit on your balcony while they are in the pool and still supervise them.

I wouldn't hesitate to book a lower unit, especially at the price. The other poster is correct - if you look at the fine print on the Caribbean Villa site, they do note that it's extra per night for each person.

Cruz Views is not luxury, but I was really happy with them. Don't get me wrong, I love a private villa and pool, but if it's not in the cards financially, Cruz Views is a great alternative and MUCH better than not going at all!

Yes - we sayed in #7 last April. The unit ois on the end nearest the pool, so you just walk up the stairs an you're there. It was very quiet too - no pool noise at all even as close as we were. An yes, the view is awesome!

We're getting it too but hopefully a little bit less than the coast as we're just inside 495...

we stayed in #5 in November. Very modest, but good for the price.
The loft is very steep--really a ladder, so with smaller kids I would be concerned. It did have 2 twin beds in the loft area , and AC. Also, the living area is very small-there was just the two of us so fine, but would not have been comfortable for 4. We spent most of our time on the balcany in the evening.
This unit only had 1 tv, and in the evening with our kids we would have wanted more room to spread out.

The pool is just few step up from this unit. Very quiet, good views and a nice pool area. For $85 dollars a nite it was a steal, but if I had to pay extra for 2 kids, I'd keep looking.

We stayed in Coral Breeze condo with our kids in April This one was very reasonable, and much more spacious. Also had a shared pool. It was $2100 for the week/for 4/during high season.

We've stayed in 5,8,9. all bottom units, 8,9, have better views. Can vouch for the A/C in loft for 5 worked great in Sept 09 froze me out. I would think they would at least give a discount for kids that age. If they won't I agree keep looking. Never stayed there but right down the hill is Samuel Cottages if the kids would be free might check that one out,no pool though.Kids may have to sleep on the floor but hey I didn't care were I slept as a kid.

We stayed the first time (3 of us) in either #3 or #4. I can't remember which. It was right over the pool, there was never anyone in it (July), and the view was beautiful. The unit was great and has been remodeled. I'd have to ask CV which one it is that has the beautiful stained glass in the bathroom. Awesome bathroom. We later stayed in #10, a lower unit, and it was nice, but the upper unit was our favorite, and less expensive. The owners have taken good care of it.
