It is REALLY starting to blow now...Very windy, and snowing sideways. I live in Groton CT, and it has been snowing here for three hours I would say, and we have a good 8 inches already.

These were taken about an hour ago, and it has really picked up since then.

We didn't get hit with any snow over the past few days, but we received about 14-18 inches about two weeks ago. So, I feel your pain!! Be safe out there!

This was at about 10 am yesterday - UP to the gir's knees. It kept snowing until about 10 last night. We got about 20 inches.

MBW where is the garden state?

Love the snow photos. Please post more.

It's raining and gray here. What I'd give for a white Christmas (either of the snow or sand variety) but it isn't going to happen here.

New Jersey is the garden state, Brenda. Nice pics, everybody. I really liked Soxfan's! It's so neat that it's not US getting it, this time.

Write this down:

This is a storm that makes me almost miss snow. It hit on a weekend, so you had time to get ready and then hunker down for (and by that I mean, buy plenty of wine and cheese). No work the next day, and the roads were hopefully plowed by this morning's commute.

On Friday, in Raleigh, it started to flurry. they immediately let school out an hour early. At our house, it flurried for all of 25 minutes. enough to cause utter panic in the city and cause multiple miles of traffic and accidents.

then, it changed to rain/snow/sleet. Enough for me to scrape the car after swimming practice....with my gloves safely in the hall closet.

Saturday, was 32.000001 degrees out and raining all day. An utterly miserable day. I'd have been happier if it had snowed like it did an hour west of here.

Until then, rain and high 50's forecast for Christmas Day.

i wouldn't have minded it if I wasn't expecting 15-20 people here on Saturday who ended up not being able to make it.

Kids live in Kernersville. They came to Columbia on Friday. Daughter said 15 minutes on the road to Winston-Salem, it was snowing so hard you could only see one car length ahead. They were glad to be out of it for a few days, going back today and looks like heading back into rain, rain, rain.
