Hi! Sprint is our carrier and I would like to find out if Sprint works anywhere on St John. Also, my son is joining us later in our stay and uses Verizon.
Thanks for your help!

Jay, that is interesting as two reps from Sprint say it has been discontinued due to fraud. Do you have or know someone who uses Sprint while on island?
Appreciate your help!

I have Sprint. There are pretty much two choices if you live here...Sprint and AT&T. Sprint's coverage isn't as good. Make sure you turn off international roam. We pick up BVI towers in Coral Bay and it is really expensive! People have said Verison works here...but I can't tell you for sure since I don't have that.

My In-Law's are here right now and have Sprint and it works in Cruz Bay and Northshore but not Coral Bay (we live in Coral bay and had to change to AT&T
)

Thanks to you all! We will be at Gallows Point for a few days so Sprint should work there...not sure about Fish Bay area.

Verizon doesn't work beyond Bourdeaux Mountain heading into Coral Bay. My Verizon bill was ridiculous when I came home after Thanksgiving week. I'm definitely looking into AT&T.

I have Sprint and had no problems.
The only thing strange was we were on Maho and my phone beeped to tell me I was in international BVI's rates.
I text and did not call anyone
My cell bill was the same

With Sprint, you will bounce off of the towers in the BVI when you are out on the East end of the island. They send a text to let you know that you are bouncing off of British towers...so just don't use the phone then. I think they charge $3.95 a minute if you don't have an international plan. The text doesn't cost you anything

Yes I work with several people that have sprint phones. There has been a rash of cloning fraud. One of the ladies that I work with got several multi thousand dollar phone bills when her phone got cloned and some one was calling Cuba on it. Sprint waved it but she was pretty freaked when she opened the bills.

Wow! That is awful! Makes a little more sense now.
