We are back

Returned to ORD early Saturday night from two great weeks on St John. Spent the rest of the night in Chicago and then drove to Plymouth, WI Sunday to spend the time with our kids and watch the Daytona race. Drove home to Northern Wisconsin yesterday. What did we miss? Still not much snow but my min/max thermometer recorded a low of 18 degree below zero while we were gone.
It has been 12 years since our last visit so it was a shock to see some of the changes. Some not good, others OK. This trip we rented "Over the Rainbow" thru Caribbean Villa, just off Hilltop near the end of Reef Bay Road, can't say enough good things about this villa. Will do a review later. Rented a Jeep Wrangler from Conrad Sutton and as in the past their service was great. The Jeep was near new with about 6K on it. We arrived with a good supply of frozen beef, pork, yellow fin tuna, Lake Superior White Fish and cold water lobster, as we planned to cook most of our meals at the villa. We had Katilady Katering provide our arrival meal on Island as well as partial stocking of the refrigerator, well worth the price.
Did do Miss Lucy's for Sunday Brunch, our first time, it was great. Also stopped at "Skinny Legs" for a hamburger, again our first time and have to report another great place. Our only dinner out was at Panini Beach Restaurant. This was real treat as we enjoy Italian cooking and were not disappointed. Food, service and location, outstanding.
Other recommendations:
Groceries: Starfish Market
Liquor, beer and Wine: Starfish Market
Just a note on the booze, I did find the lowest price on Skyy and Absolut Vodka, almost $2 a L cheaper than Mixology or Starfish.
Also visited with Ruth at St John's Spice loaded up on spices and gifts for our grandchildren at her shops. Ruth, thanks for taking the time to chat with us we enjoyed it.
Sue's sister spent the first week with us, her fist visit, so we took her snorkeling at Trunk and Hawksnest. We also took her on the Limnos trip to Virgin Gorda. We have been on the Limnos during our other two trips and were not disappointed this time.
Most of our time was spent on the pool deck making sure we didn't miss "Happy Hour" in the various time zones. Too the best of my knowledge, we didn't miss any. Made good use of the gas Weber grill for our meals.
That's all for now. Will we go back, you bet. But now we have to look forward to Spring and Summer in Northern Wisconsin. Our fist Off Road Racing weekend is only 89 day away. We are looking forward to another great season with our Mason Motorsports Honda powered Super Buggy number 912 in the World Series of Off Road Racing Series (www.wsorr.com) this summer.
Have a good day.
