ScubaGirl needs some warm fuzzies!! Rough start to vacay!

Ok --
So I get a series of panicked calls from Scuba girl over the week-end. It seems that the karma monster is out to get her and lord knows she doesn't deserve it! Needless to say her trip has gotten off to a rocky start!
Scuba Girl lives in New Brunswick Canada. So for her to travel tot he USVI takes more time and money than it does for most of us.
They plan to drive to Maine and then onto Boston to catch their flight to STT. Costs of flying out of Canada can be ridiculous!
First, on their day of departure their power was out so she really couldn't shower and blow dry her hair.
Then there was something about her favorite bra getting lost or broken -- I couldn't quite make it out on the cell phone -- and I decided not to ask questions on this one (she's gonna kill me for telling you all this!)
THEN when they were about 2 hours to their destination in Freeport, Maine she realized that she had left ALL THEIR VACATION CASH in an envelope on the counter. A call to the dogsitter confirmed that it was safe and sound, right where she left it! But at this point it was too late to turn around so they probably had to go to a loan shark or something!
THEN, since she's been sporting a serious cold for the past few weeks I suggested that she pick up some Mucinex (which you apparently can't find in Canada). But when she went to pay the lady at the pharmacy said she had to see her drivers license and her drivers license doesn't have the magnetic strip (cause she's Canadian and they don't have them). So they lady behind the counter wouldn't sell it to her! It wasn't even the Mucinex with the decongestant! Thankfuly there was a nice American in line behind her who helped her out and gave the woman HER drivers license (I'm sure some Patriot Act felony was committed here worthy of Navy Seals storming the Target but she's safe for now).
THEN after they came out of Target they saw that they had a flat tire (it was around 5:30 pm on a Sunday night!) I guess Big Brother got to them after all!!
So THEN another nice American helped them and pointed them in the direction of Sears which was able to repair the the tire before they closed at 6:30 AND they told them that they could get a free family buffet at the Sears restaurant (since when are their buffets at Sears???) Must be a Maine thing!
Poor Sydney!! She was a wreck by the time she got to their hotel. She was afraid to cross the street at that point for fear that a moose would trample her or some other woodland creature would come tearing out of the woods to run up and bite her on the ankle or something.
Of course if that happened, there would probably be a really nice American on hand to help!!
So as I said before, one of our favorite Canadian forumites (mine anyway) is off to a VERY rough vacation start.
I guess it's up to Vicki and me to bring on the good Karma! I told her that Monday is a BRAND new day. Hopefully they get to Boston in one piece!!
Can everyone send Sydney some warm fuzzies?? Boy does she need them right now!!
