With just a few days to go....

I begin opining about what I am looking forward to on this particular journey.

This will be our first trip on a boat so that's going to be a whole new experience for us.

Overall I'm looking forward to spending more time exploring those places that are harder to get to when not on a boat... although it seems that our familiar haunts (STJ and Jost) will surely draw us back.

After so many years of traveling to STJ and staying on island it will be interesting to see the islands from a different perspective.

I have always enjoyed our day trips on the boat and seem to find my sealegs quickly. I can only hope that my comfort on the sea will last more than 24 hours.

I always enjoy swimming and being in and on the water. I didn't get much chance to as a kid (other than the neighborhood pool) but I have always been drawn to the sea.

In years past I have had the chance to party with the Regatta crowd and was drawn in by their attitude about life ... it's almost contagious. Over the years I have found that I sincerely like boating people. They have a certain level of commonsense combined with a certain sense of devil may care that I find attractive and alluring.

I'm anxious to understand their view of the world and interested about learning everything I can about how life works on a boat.

Certainly I am also going to enjoy the company of good friends whom fate and the stars and the prevailing winds seem to have brought together.

For I can say with some degree of certainty that no one in this universe who didn't have an incredible sense of humor could have imagined this motley crew. Forged through a bond on this forum and held together with Jell-O shots. Surely these are the foundations of true and ever-lasting friendship.

So with one week to go and with the full knowldege that at this very moment 7 days hence I will be in the air on the last leg of our flights to STT I have to say that I am very excited about this upcoming adventure with my good friends from the forum.

Here's to fair winds and following seas and great friends to share it with. Mayhaps we will run into some other forumites on our adventure. We'll be the crew wearing a combination of "Haven't I seen you on the forum?" and "Deck Fluff" t-shirts.

(Not to mention we'll have one hell of a good trip report to follow!)

Thanks to all for the feedback and advice!

I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for the crew of the HSS Jello-shots from the placid shores of STJ. I'll be the one with my brand spanking new Forum tote. Have a good trip!

I know that you all will have a wonderful trip. Know that we will be waiting patiently for your trip report. Save travels and keep the sunscreen reapplied often. Remember the water magifies the effects of the sun.

I am also looking forward to the trip report.

My paternal grandparents were sail boat people and, at least with the crews they ran around with, there was definately a laid back "boat culture."

Quite fun for a not-of-legal-drinking-age girl to experience! My mother would have had a cow if she knew what was going on.

Aww thanks guys!! As you can tell, I'm really looking forward to this adventure.

Perhaps, if we don't get arrested and thrown in a BVI prison, we might make it back to STJ towards the end of our trip and run into a few folks!

Stranger things have happened 8)
