Is it too early to give thanks?

The subject is just rhetorical, because I know it's never too early to give thanks.
I just called a friend who has planned to be leaving for her first trip to STJ the day after Thanksgiving, to check on her excitement level. Well, she's got a little cash crunch going on. They're waiting for a loan approval to consolidate some debt in their business. Not the best time to be going out there looking for money. If they don't get positive news from their bank, they're actually thinking about not going; forfeiting her airfare and the deposit on the villa. My heart is breaking for her. I have less than three weeks to go before my third trip to STJ in 13 months. I can't imagine having to cancel my trip.
So, count your blessings, all my STJ-lovin' friends. We're lucky people to be able to visit our little slice of heaven!

That is sad!
It is a horrible time to need money. I hope it works out for them.

I DO count my blessings. And I'm feeling guilty for having had 3 nice vacations in the last year, when my best friend from work has never been anywhere. So I'm trying to figure out a short little trip for the two of us.
Yes, we are really blessed. One of our kids' transmissions just went (they're 18, 19 and 20...all at home still) and we bought her a new (ish) car yesterday. Today, Blaine was telling me about an employee who's transmission went, and she's just completely without options. He said "you know, we thought our situation sucked, but hers REALLY sucks!"

Thankful for what we have, always worrying about those who don't!

I'm hearing you.
My Sweet Amy & myself are lucky to "frequent" our favorite place under the sun.
Very lucky.
Made some wonderful friends on the way.
We're not wealthy, by any means. We do know what's important while we're here, though.
We might not be able to afford it in the future, but we live to share our dreams of serenity on that delicious little rock as much as we can.
St.John ...
(Sigh...)
I still get SO excited for each visit, just anticipating such relaxation.
Thank goodness that there's a place for people like us.
It widens our view of actuality back here at home, and how to excersize our patience.
I love it.
Smiles-
MJ
Update on my friend

So, the good news is that the loan my friend needed for her business has come through. Woosh. I think they'll decide to go on their trip, they just have to figure out some last minute details (dog-sitting, making sure someone covers their store, etc.). I'm just holding my breath that they get on that plane a week from today.
Thanks all for your kind words and the PMs of support.

That's wonderful! The trip will be all the sweeter, for the last minute fears.

Great news! Glad it all worked out. I'm a believer that folks usually get what they deserve...good, bad or indifferent...karma?? It's encouraging to hear of their sucess. All the best!
