Thank you all for sharing your trips, your stories, your advice and your company. I promise to return the favor with a detailed report. We are not bringing the laptop so I won't be able to do it as we go, but I'll take good notes, especially about the restaurants and post a report when we get back. The beasts, 2 collies and a bunny, are safe and sound and the bags are packed. I can't remember a time when I was actually packed and ready to go with 15 hours to spare. It must mean that I really need this vacation. I might just mix myself a celebratory adult beverage. It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

We booked late so the good Saturday-Saturday flights out of Logan were sold out because it's the start of school vacation week in New England. What were we to do but go early, Friday 2/16, and stay late, until Mon 2/26?

Gallows didn't have a unit open until Saturday so we decided to stay in San Juan on Friday night at the El San Juan. It's a very pretty spot decorated in the the old elegant Carribean style of dark rich woods and louvers. Saturday morning we'll catch Cape Air over to STT, then ferry to our heart....St. John.

We'll probably be on the 2:00 CA ferry, but if Mr. Murphy blinks we will break his law and be on the 1:00. I'll get the kids to scratch you all a message for the Cruz Bay webcam. See you when we get back!!

Can't wait to see you on the web cam. Have fun and don't do anything I'd do.

I am SO WICKED JEALOUS!!! It is SO WICKED COLD here!!!

Logan should be back to normal by the time you leave, but sending good travel juju your way anyway.

I'll be looking for your message in the sand (while wishing I was there  )

Thanks folks. Now I'm feeling some pressure to think of the perfect message to write in the sand. Something brief of course and poignant while reflective of my sparkling wit and airport rum punch.... hmmm.

Have a great trip! You are lucky to be getting out of here. I could not even get the ice off my car this morning!

Of course, for all of us who will still be digging out of the snow and ice, we'll just be thrilled to see that on the webcam! Carry on!

After spending an hour scraping ice off my teenage son's car this morning becuase he "forgot" to clean it off last night if you just scratch the temperature I will cry. I just keep saying 2 more months like a mantra.
