I'm getting married on Hawksnest Beach in May. It's going to be a small and simple ceremony and we're trying to cut costs on a few things. I would like a bouquet of flowers but I'm not looking to spend over $100 (and it seems most flower shops charge that for a wedding bouquet) since I will only need them for less than 1 hour. What I'd like to do is just buy fresh flowers somewhere and make them into my own small bouquet since I don't really like those 'formal' wedding bouquets anyway. However, I have NO idea if/where I could buy fresh flowers. I've never been to St. Thomas or St. John, so I really don't know. I don't even mind buying flowers from a grocery store, as long as they are pretty. Does anyone know of anything in St. John or even St. Thomas? We'll have to go to St. Thomas the day before the wedding to pick up our marriage license stuff. (I hope I don't sound like I'm being too frugal.)

There's a flower shop next to the Smoothie stand in Cruz Bay. I believe you can also get some flowers at the grocery store. You'll have no trouble finding some.

I was married in St. John a couple of years ago aboard a catamaran and didn't want to carry flowers so I had a gorgeous lei made!

Susan Pratt from Passion Flowers did a wonderful job...it was made of fushia and white orchids. She gave me extras for free for my hair as well....I believe the lei was around $60 and lasted many days.

Some might think that leis are more Hawaiian but they are also very tropical!

Good Luck and Congrats!
