Have you stayed in january before??

We did last year. Was in the 80s with a little rain here and there, ocean a little chilly and villa pool cold. Overall gorgeous AND it was -6 degrees in Boston when we were there! It was pretty quiet on island for busy season due to the economy, I guess. I expected it to be much more crowded-got into restaurants without ressies no problem.

God willing, I will be. Trying to convince the whole family to make the trip. Ages would range from 2 to 94. The rest of my family is intrigued about St. John because we talk about it so damn much, but the price and the vacation style makes them a bit hesitant.

We are trying to get Westin Villas as a nice happy medium (My wife and I have stayed there before), where they can have the resort as well as the full island experience. Problem is my granfather is so mobile, and St. John isn't exactly the easiest place to get around.

Still hoping it works out.

We were also there last January like turtlegirl said the water was a little cool. That is why this time around we didn't even bother looking at a villa with a pool we went with a hot tub this time

Good move on the hot tub rather than the pool!
We were in a westward facing villa for the sunset/pool warmth and it was still cold so hot tub is the way to go for this time of year.

We were there same time last January and will be there again this Jan too! I feel a Beach Bar gathering in the works.
