Hi,
We are invited to two parties, I have been under the weather for about a week now and have not been wanting to deal with it.

Does anyone have any good couples costume ideas?

Requirements-
has to be fairly "clean" as kids are invited to these parties

no sexy or short skirt, strapless because as always, I need to lose 10 pounds :? The more coverage, the better

Preferably one we don't have to buy but whatever at this point.

The best I have come up with so far is Charlie Brown and Lucy...but I would probably have to sew that as we don't have time to order unless I do express delievery which I am not really willing to pay for...

I had suggested a hot dog and a bun, but then my 7th grader clued in and said it is totally inappropriate and embarrassing. I thought it would go over her head, but noooooo!

oh yeah, one other idea was for us to be sick pigs with big thermometers and hot water bottles- swine flu....but is that stupid?

I think the sick pigs costume idea is fabulous!! You should do it! And there's always "serial killer" (see bevm's Halloween party pix on facebook) I know whatever you end up doing it's going to be great just because you're so creative! Image

Go more PC with the "swine flu" and go as H1 and N1.

We attend a costume party every year. This year I am a jelly fish and hubby is a snorkler. I will have a clear dome umbrella which I have added streamers of bubble wrap and various "Sea colored" celophane and ribbon streamers to the floor. Very figure friendly. Hubby "who is still a fit hard body at 50 +" will wear rash guard shirt and rashguard long pants, his mask and snorkle, and flippers. To make this more interesting, we are dancers and this is a costume dance. I can't wait to see him try to dance in his flippers. He'll definately have to be the one going backward.

dee jay jay- cute idea! like that!

We just got back from the store. Ned wanted to get it over with  . We ended up getting pig snouts, tails and then pink sweatshirts and pink sweatpants from Kmart- they are quite funny because they are really thick and they are the perfect color pink. I had a good laugh with Ned in the dressing room!

We are going to get a giant thermometer and then we are going to get some big Campbells chicken noodle soup cans, take off the labels, run thru the dishwasher and then glue the labels back on and drink out of them. We also got surgical masks.

We might paint our face pink and then put those black "plus sign" marks over our eyes to make us look sick like in the cartoons. Not sure if we will do that or not.

Anyways, we are committed! Ned's biggest fear is that I actually get sick and he has to go alone as a ridiculous pig!

That snout stinks though. UGH.

In the first place I'm amazed that you found pink sweatsuits! To fit each of you, even!! Hilarious!

I love Marcia's idea of labeling yourselves H1 and N1!

(shove a Bounce in that pig snout for a while and see if that helps)

You WILL post pictures!

Pia,I'm sure you know the place. Walters dance center. It was purchased several years ago by some good friends of ours. There's usually about 100 people there every Sat night. (Uh-Oh, we might be in big trouble for hijacking.):)

Nah, djmom won't mind will you - LOVE the swine flu idea btw :) I know Walters very well - I was part owner of the HOA competition for a few years with LeRoy and Ginny (Walters) and have been to the studio many, many times :)

Go as John & Kate plus eight. Each of you can attach 4 dolls to yourself.

I was thinking about doing the octomom but didn't think I could attach all those dolls to myself

I keep seeing people going as Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth, and I think that is the funniest costume ever, but probably not the vibe you are looking for.

I like the swine flu idea. I need to go get my scarf to complete my pirate costume (complete with pirate flask), but I still don't have anywhere to wear it yet.
