HA!

It is pouring sleet in PA right now, on top of about 8 inches of snow, with more to come.

I can't wait to get to St. John. We had our son out this morning and hubby was telling him to pretend it was sand in preparation for our upcoming trip.

It's sleeting like mad here in Boston too. Ugh, though I suppose I can't complain compared to some of you--this is our first real storm of the season.

Hahaha Mary Beth - I'm in Monmouth County too - 3 minutes from the coast - and it is SO SLLLLUUUUSHHHHHY here!

Actually, I think it's rather pretty- not in the ahhhhh-blue-green-sea way St. John is pretty, but the snow here certainly makes for a cozy-drink-cocoa-eat-popcorn type of day - which I also love and find charming (until tomorrow when the 30' mounds of filthy snow appear in parking lots everywhere that will last until late spring  )

I'm in Monmouth County too ... and just having come back in from the icey slope that used to be my driveway (and breaking thru the ice to make a path down to the car and street) then trying to defrost the ice cube that is no longer my SUV since it's frozen shut with about 1/4" of ice frozen all over it, I am not appreciating the weather quite the same way you are! Guess I'll just have to stay inside tomorrow too since it's supposed to be even colder (so no "thaw" in sight) and count the minutes until wheels up on 10March! At least the sand I threw on the driveway was from the beach - about as close as I'll get for a few days, anyhow!
But then ... there are those folks out there who have it a whole lot worse ... as I remember those Ohio winters ... and who are stuck beyond hither and yon and can't get out of an airport!!!
I can hardly wait to miss the snow, ice, sleet, slush and have warm year-round!

i don't envy you folks with ice. We had a mess here yesterday but at least it was all snow. 11" at my house. I had no choice but head to a customer site yesterday morning. What would normally be a 45 minute drive took 95 minutes! The trip home last night didn't take as long mainly because we worked until 9:00 and no one was on the roads, but the expressway was a solid sheet of snow. There was no way to see what lane i was in!

6 weeks... i just keep reminding myself... 6 weeks :)

Just spent the last 3 hours shoveling snow and ice out of the driveway. I'm pooped! Might have to mix up a batch of painkillers to ease the back/arm/leg pain

Marybeth, that is a very pretty picture, with or without snow. Here in north coastal Mass it is pouring and I mean pouring slush. I have to get the beasts to the kennel tomorrow (about 15 miles from here)and conditions are not improving. We fly out first thing Friday morning. Who is this Murphy that wrote the law anyway?

MMM, you'll make it! Just be careful in the AM with the icing. They haven't bothered to plow my street yet, so I guess I'll just ice skate to work tomorrow. At least Logan is opened again!

I would love to get some snow. Seems like every time my friend in Colorado has snow, we get rain  It looks so beautiful!

Look what we got two nights ago - this is totally not something that normally happens here: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=new+orleans+tornado

We had the tornados in our area too but not the snow! It was 40 this morning. Cold for us! OK so I guess i am rubbing it in. Only because I would like to see snow every once in a while!
