looks like a newbie buddy and i will be able to get down this sunday for a short last minute trip. maybe on second atl to stt flt that gets in a little after 3pm. as usual will rent jeep on stt and take barge over. obligatory this trip due to buddy's mobility impairmnet.

when we were down in late july/early aug cap vic not running and seems like i read a recent post that i can't find that either mr b or general II recently taken out of service.

know barges running can change daily but does anyone have any info on current barges in normal operation? thanks for any info.

Captain Vic is still out of service and has no return date. As of last weekend both of Boysen's boats were running as well as Slowenoak, sorry I mean Roanoak :) but Roanoak is due to go into dry dock soon - last time frame I was told was towards the end of October maybe November and it will be out for a while.

pia, thanks again for your immediate and helpful response. sounds like same oh same oh.

i noticed the new owner of casa bueno has added some personal stuff to vrbo web site and increased rates by amounts equal to vi 8% tax. looks like they closed.

sorry you didn't get the sale but i promise if i'm ever crazy enough to buy a home on stj (yet with legal capacity to close), you'll be my agent.

won't get on island for 10/25 forum gatheringat bb and leave before the 11/1 gathering. tell all the old man will tip one to crowd from my nesting spot. oh well at least i get a few more days in paradise.

have a happy,

On island now. Airport run today on tuglife. One way only as they are having engine problems. We had a slow ride to ST. We returned on Mr. B.

Not sure on Roanoak - they were out of service on the weekend so only Boyson was running but not sure if they are back or not but do know they are due to be out for a few weeks + sometime starting the end of October/beginning of November.

I would call and check but they never answer the phone :)

Thanks Pia!

Our flight is scheduled to arrive at 1:50, so we'll just try and get to Red Hook in time for a 3:00 or 3:30 barge. If we have to wait until 4:00, then we'll wait until 4:00!

when we arrived sunday afternoon, roanoke was tied up in red hook and not running. when we returned this morning on general II, roanoke still at same place in red hook so looks like only mister b and gII running.

also noted either wind driven or unusally high tides in afternoons on north shore tues & wed.
