Extra day on STT or STJ?

Our plans are book villa first. We want to stay 8 nights. Since this is our first time with our family would you stay your last night on STT or just stay an extra day on STJ in your villa. Right now it looks like most of the flights out of STT are around 2:30. As newbies - will we be rushed to get out of STJ from Coral Bay area? Thanks again and will have many more questions over the next months!

STT is too busy for our taste. We'd stay on STJ. You'll probably have to turn in your rental car in the morning. Then you could grab a meal and go to the airport.

If your flight leaves at 2:30 you shouldn't be rushed. Our flight was at 2:00 and we were able to make it to St. Thomas and eat lunch in Frenchtown and then catch our flight. I would choose an extra day on St. John.

I think there is fun to be had and beauty to be seen on St. Thomas too. The water at Coki Beach is so pretty, I took awesome beach pics there. There are also "less visited" beaches there too. Great restaurants and the downtown market square is fun and filled with locals selling their wares.

But this is coming from a person that stays on STT and takes the ferry to visit STJ. We are planning an extra day trip to STJ this time! :) I would do some research and find out what you want to see on each island (beaches, restaurants, etc.) then go from there! Either way you really can't go wrong in paradise!

Have fun in de sun!

The only situation I'd consider staying the last night in STT is if I had a 7 or 8AM departure time. You'll have no problem getting to the airport on time. If you have a 2:30 flight I'd say you should be on the 11 AM Red Hook ferry. Noon at the very lastest.

Thank you all you. I was already leaning toward STJ but just wanted some input. Thanks again!
