What is your favorite fair food? Here in South Cak-a-laki, mine has always been the foot long corn dog with lots of mustard (the only time I eat a corn dog). We have a local icon called Fiske Fries which people stand in line to order. Always offered are the other things I don't eat, elephant ears, polish sausage, candy apples and cotton candy. This year, there are two new offerings; deep fried cherries dipped in chocolate and deep fried bacon dipped in chocolate called "Sweet Piggy!" I am looking forward to my once a year artery clogging afternoon! :D

We're going this Wednesday. Tme to photograph the herds of people grazing on the manna that comes from a deep fryer.

Fletcher's always does a special addition for the Texas state fair (which is on right now), it is a cheddar jalepeno corny dog.

Boston Mike - I would really like to try that "Deep fried hot dogs over white rice topped with a brown gravy", but we do not get that in Texas. I know I would like that.

If anyone did see something like that at the Texas state fair, let me know where it was.

Caramel apples.

Kettle corn hot & fresh from the big-ass copper kettle being stirred by a burly man hoilding a big-ass wooden spoon.

Hot apple cider.
