Sadly, No St John in 2010...But...

I'll have to settle for
Maui!! I let my wife choose for next summer's vacation. She had a choice of exchanging our Starwood timeshare for the Westin St. John, Westin Ka'anapali, or take a Southern Caribbean cruise. She chose Maui since we have never been to Hawaii. I guess I'll somehow suffer through not being on "the rock" for another year.

Oh, the pains we go through to keep our spouses happy!! I wonder if the bartenders have heard of painkillers? I'll take the recipe...
I'll just order the calendar and look longingly at the pictures, watch the webcams, and, of course, read the forum.
Maybe 2011...
Seriously, I'm happy to be going!!!

Maui will be different but still beautiful! Much longer flight too, but oh well, at least it's not a Galveston vacation!!
Congrats & enjoy~

Ron,
We are doing exactly the same thing!

Except I think we are staying at a different property.
I will miss St. John though.

We love Maui! You really have to get a book called Maui revealed. It helped us find all kinds of off-the-beaten path places. Often there were less than 10 people at the places we went to for our day trips. It was wonderful.
ENJOY!!

I got a non-stop on Continental from Houston...8 hours 15 minutes. Travel time to St John is about the same and I don't have to change planes or sit in San Juan or Miami for several hours.

We are taveling to Hawaii also in April. Staying in Oahu for a few days and then cruising the islands. We will definitley be heading back to St. John in 2011.

We enjoyed Kauai in April, especially the local food. Beaches and snorkeling, not so much. I forgot how cold the water is there. St. John really does spoil you!

That's exciting! Maui is great and I second the idea of getting Maui Revealed. (Just keep in mind that the locals are not always big fans of that book or its author.) We also used Maui Trailblazer for info on hikes and snorkeling.
I hope you get a chance to see Hana while you're in Maui. IMO it's worth spending a night there even tho you'll also have your place in Ka'anapali -- so many things to see on the way down there and beyond Hana; we couldn't have done all those hikes plus the drive in one day.
RickG we'll have to get you up to Lake Michigan in May or early June. The Hawaiian waters will feel very comfortable after that!
