Looks like the roundabout is in use now. Can any of our residents tell us if it going well? Do people even know how to use it?

its a little off-center and the first time through alot of people don't get it (espcially STT cars) but its a start. It will be easier when it sfor real because it will be more on center and clear w/o all the ongoing construction. Its hard to "teach" the roundabout when every day or two the directions change for a few hours while they pour concrete or something.

if coming from South Shore Road do you still make a left to go in to town?

It works very well when construction isn't interfering, or people aren't stopping in the round-about to let off passengers. Traffic in the circle has the right-of-way. You go left from wherever you enter until you exit. Very good flow except at rush hours...

I think it will greatly improve that intersection once it's all done. There were several roundabouts on Grand Cayman and once I got the hang of them it was a breeze. You just have to be a little agressive

You know, it took so long, maybe they DID move the town.

Right now they have Centerline down to one lane because they are digging out the upper part of the complex in front of the Eye Doctor/Dolphin. They do have stop lights...some people obey, some don't. Sometimes the flag guy and the lights are working (not in unison) sometimes not. Sometimes people go left around the circle, sometimes they take the most direct route. When people are doing what they are supposed to it actually works really well. It will be a big improvement in the end. This is the only project on St. John that I can recall that is ahead of schedule and under budget. Actually, these phrases have never been uttered on St. John before...so good for them!
