Perhaps it was the beers I had at the "state" fair of New England or maybe it is because I am just fed up with all of the badgering but I am going to just say it. I will not come back and respond to this post, I promise that, but I really just have to say it.
Let it frigging go already. If you want to make your political statements, do it in a Private Message. Calling someone out like you have is antoganistic and uncalled for on this board, in my opinion.
Take it somewhere else. We have food and travel to talk about.

so you see the IOC decision as an indictment of the Obama administration?
and somehow that decision has some deep meaning in the global sociopolitical world?

... thinking about your position on the matter led me to read this article.
"Chicago Loses, Nerds Win"
"The real story behind the battle over the 2016 Summer Olympics."

I take no stand in the debate... no more for me to say.

When I learned of Rio's bid for the Olympic Games, I wanted to throw up.
What about the plight of David Goldman and his young son Sean vs. the Brazilian Court System.
For those of you that are not aware, here is a link;

David has been fighting for custody of his biological son for several years, since his mother illegally took him from NJ.
In spite of the Haig Convention, International Law, and the pleadings of the Secretary of State and NJ politicians, this man has been threatened, coerced, lied to, and ignored by the Brazilians and their court system.
I have been following this story for some time - absolutely heartbreaking... and maddening. Sean's biological Brazilian mother is dead, and the court had left him in the custody of his Brazilian step-father. Finally after five years, the court granted David Goldman custody, but only for six days a week and if he remained in Brazil. Sean should be reunited with his father and allowed to return to the US.

The funniest comment I saw regarding the Conservative Right cheering the Rio win was (and forgive me I don't remember the source): "Why do conservatives hate America?"
Made me LOL.
Even GWB gets it!
