Get away with anything on STJ?

STJ is still one of the safest places in the Caribbean, but the statistics seem to be pretty screwy according to an article in this weeks' STJ Tradewinds.[www.stjtradewindsnews.com] Nobody really gets arrested for much of anything. The piece gives the following reported 2006 crimes and arrests:
Crimes
125 Burglaries 0 arrests
4 armed robberies 0 arrests
77 grand larcenies 1 arrest
3 arsons 0 arrests
3 rapes 2 arrests
5 shootings 0 arrests
1 stabbing 0 arrests
When I was down there a couple months ago a guy broke into Skinny's,broke into the art shop back by the horseshoe pits, caught on video tape, everybody knew him and the police would not arrest him. A couple of days later, Island Blues was broken into, had their whole safe stolen and was vandalized. The police came and just chastised Blues' management for not having a camera and said there wasn't really much they could do. I love the place and the laid back attitude, but I think that the police are just flat out lazy!
