Disregard- addressed by Anthony, but I don't agree.

I believe Anthony, as owner of the board, addressed this.

Anthony, can you tell us why you locked this topic?

Sorry Anthony, just read yours.

Yes I know everyone is not going to agree -

Here is a response I just sent via PM to someone else:

My take is this - it wasn't a review. Something happened there - several months ago. To bring it up now in such a vague way isn't helping anyone. Believe me - these decisions are hard for me and I take them and make them seriously. There are reviews up that are tough but fair - but when you are discussing events and interactions with people - I don't feel comfortable hosting that kind of stuff.

Thanks Anthony, as always, I think you are more than fair with all of us. We are a nutty bunch with strong opinions!

Adeste Review...

I have to chime in here....
I respect Anthony's right to delete reviews but I
completely disagree. I myself have posted not so good reviews. You've started a precedent here...let the readers decide.
Sometimes we really don't know what goes on behind closed doors; maybe that was the truth. If I like the house, the price and the location, I just might rent from them anyway.
A review is a review, period.

I too respect Anthony's right's to manage his board how he likes and I fully understand his actions on this matter. I would think that there is a liability issue with the vague accusations being tossed about here.

Anthony, the review has not been deleted. I just accessed it prior to this posting.

Just for the record, we are headed to Adeste and looking forward to our week next summer. Sometimes it takes opening a can of worms to make the best decision personally.

The details are now on TripAdvisor.

Scary, we have always stayed away from owner occupied rentals but this gives you even more reasons that you never thought of...

And to delete on a whim someone's negative information is asinine. This is no longer a forum.

1. If you don't like it here...leave. Sometimes I don't and I leave.

2. You are more than welcome to start your own Forum. Because your idea of a Forum is different from Anthony's, it might be of value to others. Then again, it may not. Anthony took a chance.

3. Define "whim." I think Anthony posted his comments and explained himself.

4. TripAdvisor is waiting when you are.

The details have been on TA for several days, this is not new news. In my humble opinion, Anthony's decision was not based on a whim. He looked at the fact that the poster waited 5 months to post this negative review and the fact that the comments were not about villa shortcomings(hence Villa Review) but of a very personal nature. As the moderator, he made his decision based on what he feels is in the best interest of this forum. In the years I have been on this forum I can count very few times that Anthony has stepped in and removed a post or review. There are lots of different personalities here and his job is to moderate, not to make an asinine decision as you so eloquently phrased it. I give him credit for monitoring and occasionally stepping in, which is his job. I find it interesting that you have only posted 8 times but feel you can call the moderator's decision asinine. I say this in the nicest possible way, come back when you can play nice. I'd love to see you here when you can interject something positive.

I guess I'm playing devil's advocate here but I think it's interesting that on TA an 11/3/08 inquiry was answered by an 8/29/09 post. I'm just saying......

I'm just saying that this is all over the net now and somebody needs to get to the bottom of this.

Whether it be the original poster (I don't think that she/he could make all of this up), the owner or Viva.

Something is not right and it won't stop until it's settled.

This is just another thread about the same villa.
