Wow. Great shots.

If you played "where is this?" with these photos I wouldve guessed Maine or the one of the Canadian maritime provinces. Looks great.

Whats the scoop on the local cuisine, beer, etc.?

Thanks, yes it's a squirrel. They are more reddish/brown here rather than grey.

Isn't the kitty sweet. She fell asleep there with the head in the blue berry bushes, LOL.

Thank you!

I've never been to Maine, but I would love to. Pictures from there looks beautiful. Maybe our nature isn't that different. We have our cottage in the archipelago (but on the mainland), so thre's a lot of rocky islands there.

Don't know exactly what our scoop is when it comes to food and drink, I think we eat a little of this and that. But maybe people think of herring and schnaps, or smörgåsbord, but we eat that only as a starter for holidays like Midsummer and Christmas. Swedish meatballs might be something also. And we have good beer.

I see a LOT more alcohol than food! :D No wonder you're so darn skinny.

Is the kitty yours or a visitor? Is it a Maine Coon (sp?)?

Uhhhumm...thanks, I think - LOL! I don't drink snaps, so, it's more for showing. I actually moved the Absolut bottle so it would show. But for those who drink, it's fun to try different types, but you only take very little (like 2-3 cl) per snaps.

Yes, it's one of my Maine Coons. Cute, huh?

Beautiful pictures, Karin!! Did you take your kitties to your vacation house with you, or was that picture of Tossan (or Alice?) taken at your "usual" house? I bet they love to go to the summer house!

Maggy - I love your pictures. The rocks in the water are amazing. And your food looks great too...what is in the little white crock? And what do you have cooking in the pot?

I showed my hubby the Swedish kitty and squirrel...he said...awwww :)

The pictures I think you meant is when we took the boat to a little island for coffee an afternoon. Not that many days that's possible. The only bad thing was that we forgot the instant coffee. We had a thermos full of hot water, cinnamon buns and other stuff to eat, but no coffee. Grrr..

The white crock contains pickled herring which my mom did. And the pot is just boiled new potatoes. This was the starter or the cold meal. After this we continued with some hot dishes.

The cat by the way, is an American breed - Maine Coon. Maine from the state and Coon from racoon, because they used to think those cats were a mix of forrest cats and racoons, because if it's bushy tail. Of course that's not the case.

CG - the picture of Tossan is taken at our vacation house. They love to be there (especially Tossan) but not the ride in the car there. It takes 1,5 hours to drive and they almost always throw up in the cage. The last half hour is a small curvy, bumpy road.

Love the Pics!

Your cat is beautiful. I just adopted two maine coon kittens in June and they are growing fast. They are the most lovable cats!

Thanks for the report! :)

Hi Maggy!

How wonderful the nature is around your summerhouse. I would enjoy staying in such a place.
What about bathing?

I can see that your midsummer menu is very similar a Danish menu although our alcohol and beer have other names. But opposite you we eat herrings very often. We also sometimes like to have schnapps to the herrings. Make you feel good. :D :D .
