I lived right around the corner but have never stayed there
I am headed down to St. John Nov 12, 13 and 14 and saw the rate of 65.00 a night.
Was wondering what do you that have stayed there think of tamarind.
I am not renting a jeep and will just catch a ride to maho and whereever else I head.
Let me know

Well I lived there for the first 2 months I was here.
The $65 rooms are very small with a single bed, TV and A/C. you share a bathroom. I'm living on STT but that the place I stay when I come over to STJ.

Doesn't Tamarind have a good breakfast? Or am I thinking of something else?

They do in fact have a nice "home cooking" type of breakfest. dinner's vary by night with no dinner on SAT or SUN as of this post. the primerib on friday night is one of the best deals on island IMHO.
The Tamarind isn't for everyone, it's a basic hotel that's "intown". it's not the Westin. I do have a warm place in my heart for the Inn.

Awesome breakfast and the guest chef thing they do for dinner is a great value as well.

Gotta try the heart attack homefries!

The single rooms are in an interior building. Much quieter and no Dominican music at 05:30.

They used to have sushi night too but no more.

I knew they rooms are small but staying in town as opposed to Maho when I do not have a jeep may be a better idea since I am only there Thur pm- Sun am
Size was not the issue it was more would I want to be in town or out at Maho

must sleep really well rick.......never noticed any dominican music early and my back windown was the same direction as tamarinds would be

I know the sushi chef - they used to call him Asian Ron. He's back home here in Philly and his dog, Buddah is still alive a great dog.

We have 'happy fish' at Marketplace for sushi
I hope it is open in November.

people in redhook call the tamarind studios showboxes OR where you live now is a shoebox?
I will say it is definatley tiny but it did the job.it was a roof over out heads.

People who live in the studios at the tradewinds call them the shoeboxes. they're shaped like a shoebox.
