Contacting the Smoothie Shack Owner?

Does anybody know how to I get a hold of the smoothie shack guy?

A little over a month ago when we were on STJ we placed an order for a wall hanging from the guy at the smoothie shack on Centerline Road. He took our credit card and shipping info. He said that he'd get our item in about a week or so. I know everything there is on island time but now that it's been over a month and our credit card still hasn't been charged I'm starting to get curious about what is going on with the item.

Any ideas?

Thanks :)

Ok, we need an "island time" equation.

according to my calculations....

island time= temperature in degrees x difficulty of task (on a scale of 1 to 10-yours would be a 10 I am afraid) x number of customers with your order divided by how many times you smiled divided by whether or not the vendor has been paid (3 for no, one for yes-you would be a 2 since he has your credit card). The final answer is multiplied by 1 if you said good afternoon, by 3 if you said hello and by 5 if you just asked without greeting.

That will tell you how many days until your item will arrive.

So I will need to know how hot it was, how many times you smiled, and did you say good morning?

Mid 80s, I smiled too many times to count (I'm on STJ enjoying a mango smoothie, why wouldn't I be smiling), and plenty of greetings and friendly banter.

Not to mention the hundreds of dollars my husband and I have spent there over the years. Does that count for anything?

That depends on who owns the Smoothie Truck this week!

Do you know if the charge has already hit your credit card? If you are able to look at that info on-line, you may be able to see a phone number of the business who submitted the expense....

I didn't know the Smoothie man sold anything besides smoothies. What kind of wall hanging did you buy? I guess he is suppose to ship it to you??

Bummer. I did my equation and because of your incessant smiling and greetings, it should have arrived in about 21 days.

That was a 20 smile-that is the maximum smiles allowed in equation....

Actually, we still need to add post office time. How long is that. Pia, where ARE you when I need you???

That doesn't even include your repeat customer bonus which could not be factored (Will be included in the new and improved equation. It reduces island time by at least 1/2)

Hmmm...need to redo the equation. Or maybe you should just call.

Yeah, he sells jewelry and lots of Caribbean metal wall hangings. I had my eye on one with 3 palm trees for the whole trip and my husband kept making me wait. The next room we re-do is getting a St. John theme. My husband is a very cautious spender. Finally I convinced him so we went to buy it and someone else had just bought it two minutes before we got there. So I ordered one and the owner is supposed to ship it to me.

Thanks lprof, I'll give that number a call :)

Oh, so he didn't actually have any available, but had to order it from his vendor and THEN ship it to you?

That always increases island time, and I'm not sure if one month is enough time. And he's probably like other STJ vendors, who don't bill your card until your entire order is ready to ship.

I'd give him a call, but honestly I'm guessing he hasn't gotten it from his vendor yet based on my previous experiences in trying to get stuff on St. John. I've never bought anything but a soursop smoothie from him, but it just seems like it's a major production to get anything special down there.

I love the artwork there. I might pick something up myself next time.

It worked!

The guy I talked to (the one from Michigan if you know those guys) said that he thinks the owner got it in and may have shipped it already, but he's checking with him. Nice to hear a familiar voice but I'm rather jealous of where he picked up the phone in contrast to where I called him from...we've had record-breaking cool temps where I live so I'm missing STJ even more.
