Although this will be our 5th trip back - we've never used a guide book for hiking, snorkeling, etc... This next trip, I thought it might be useful to get one - so which one do you you folks like best, and why:
St. John Off the Beaten Track by Gerald Singer,
St. John: Feet, Fins and Four Wheel Drive by Pam Gaffin, or another one?
Thanks all

We bought both for our first trip. I guess if forced to choose, it'd be Feet, Fins and 4Wheel Drive. Both are great, though!

We have used Off the Beaten Path and I think it is great. Gerald Singer gives very good descriptions and directions. I have not had a single instance where I was unable to find what he was describing while following his directions. I purchased in a package with a Trailbandit map and the two items together are great.
I have not used Fins Feet & Four wheel drive so I cannot give a comparison.

We have Off the Beaten Track and have used it alot. Last time we also got the VI street Atlas and used it alot as well. The a combo of both worked great for us as I need the visual map to picture everything.

Feet Fins was the one we used for our first couple of trips. I think it is a good introductory guide. We always bring Off the Beaten Path with us now. It has good directions to some of the less accessible beaches and very detailed hiking instructions, with maps.

You can buy it through here with a Nat. Geographic map and save 10%. I guess Anthony gets credit for the sale also.
