Dehydrated Grape Tomatoes

I have grape tomatoes coming out of my wazoo. I also have two dehydrators. What I want to do is wash the tomatoes, cut them in half, and place them on the trays and dehydrate them.
The book I have just says: Tomatoes, and it says to blanch and peel them. I do not want to blanch and peel them, has anyone done this and skipped the blanching and peeling and success?
Thnx!

Yes, I have skipped the step of not peeling them. Blanching them just makes it easier to peel. Leaving the skin on just makes them a little more chewy and tough. They still taste like candy and go great on salads. You just have to cut them into smaller pieces if you do not peel them first.

Thank you for the reply. I'll give it a whirl.
Also, do you put them in jars or zip lock bags, and, do you freeze them or store them in your pantry?

I put them in a jar and add salad oil and store in the fridge. These keeps them soft. I do not know how long they keep fresh though. I have never made as big a batch as you may be making.

Ok - well that gives me an idea. I'll put some in a jar with oil for immediate use, and some in the freezer to save. Then, when I want to use the frozen ones I will put them into jars with oil and see how that goes. Thinking x-mas gifts here.
Thnx!
