New skeeter report?

We arrive on STJ Monday 7/20, and in looking at the weather, it appears that STJ is having or about to have quite a bit of rain. Can some forum members jump in and give us an updated skeeter report covering the next few days?
Thanks!

Skeeters are almost non existant - totally back to our normal level and we have had no rain for probably a few months now except maybe a daily 2 min shower - usually at night.
You will be fine with the skeeters as it will take 7-10 days after a huge rain for them to reach "swarming" level
Happy travels

Thanks, Pia. Having been to STJ in '93, and then again in '07 and '08, we never even saw skeeters except maybe at the Westin Beach Bar at night and a couple other places. Come to think of it, we did have skeeters at night in '07 when we stayed at Terrahawk, right above Gibney, where it's plenty humid and jungle-like.
But when I read about the swarms in May, and forum members on the beaches, unable to escape unless they were underwater(!), well it gave me pause.
So when I saw the (supposed) forecast for almost 4 inches of rain in the next few days, I thought I'd have some forum members keep us in the loop as far as conditions on-island.
Thanks again, Pia.

It won't rain 4" inches there unless I'm on island to see it personally. Last time...it rained 6" in one day.

Well, I guess Bandit is going to be on STJ soon, since Accuweather sez that the island is going to receive 4+ inches of rain between now and July 21st!
Sounds like a lot to me, anyway.

We have a wedding next Friday (7/24) at Trunk and at sunset and I must admit that I'm getting a little worried ! About the possible rain and the skeeters!

As Pia said, it's been fairly dry. And after a very heavy rain it takes 10 days or so for the mosquitoes to hatch out.
You can't control the weather so don't get worked up over "maybes"...Besides it's good luck if it rains on a wedding day.
