HUGE lines for the Car Ferry

Hi everyone
Just thought I would post a "heads up" for those needing to take the car ferry - say if you have rented your car on STT and are staying on STJ or if you are vacationing on STT and wanting to visit STJ for the day with your car - the lines are HUGE and long both sides.
We are down to one barge and wait time has been as long as a few hours
We need to go to STT for a new refrigerator (woo hoo) but no way baby not with those lines we can wait.
Not sure when we will be back to all ferries.

He has suggested one of the old style ones that you can wheel around and attatch with a hose
He was kidding - I think

My mom actually has TWO of those old-style dishwashers. She loves them. If I had a way to get it to you, I would bring you one. They're very hard to find and do the job just as well. Plus they have that butcher block top, and I always used hers as a kitchen island!
Thanks for the heads up on the car ferry. Wouldn't want someone to miss their flight or get stuck on either island!

Add this to the on-going forum debate about whether to rent a car on STT or STJ.

TY for the heads-up. The Chocolate Hole webcam is down, which I normally use to monitor the car barges.
As I write, my wife & in-laws are just about to depart from Newark, and are ferrying over to STJ. I'll text her & warn to take the passenger ferry over, except for my brother-in-law, who will get stuck waiting for the barge.

The Roanoke should be back up and running

soon.
It really sucks when you only have two running and one of them is the Slowanoke.

Ahh, nuts! We HAVE to go to STT tomorrow to pick up our pool tile. I guess we'll be doing some serious waiting!

Thanks for the heads up! We will be watching this closely as we head down to STT next Wed. for a week and we're hoping to visit STJ 2 of the days. That's our kind of travel luck!

That stinks. There is often a little bit of budging in line, I can't imagine what it's like right now. Yikes!

We heard from a delivery truck driver that there were three barges up and running by 11AM this morning.
Ron is watching with binoculars now in order to confirm.

From what I saw, I think Brigadier was the third barge. It showed up pretty regular and took the commerial vehicles to STT. Only the big Mr.B won't be running.

So Mr B and Capt Vic are out of service leaving us with General and Slowanoke, I mean Roanoke
Better than just one
Keep those binoculars handy Ruth for any updates.
