What are your favorite day trips to the BVI?
Do you prefer a sail? Power boat? Who leads the best trip? Or just take the ferry over? Which BVI destination is the best?

I am sure that some will say that I sound like a borken record, but I don't think you can beat a day with Capt John on Palm Tree Charters. You can decide what you want to do and where you want to go. Maybe you want to head over to the Baths or snorkle the Indians and then head to Jost.
It is the perfect way to spend a day on the water.

We all just got back from a charter with Capt Brandi (yesterday). Although the day started out cloudy we got a little sun latter in the day. Despite the cloudy day we had a great time and were able to snorkel three different spots including the Indians and Caves and still visit the Baths and have lunch at Willie T's. During the trip Capt Brandi provided lots of background information and sea stories that only he could properly tell. I suppose you could use him for a trip to Jost, but I would rather take the ferry for a day at White Bay. Regardless, I would definately recommend Palm Tree Charters for a BVI trip and that is the truth.

I will pile on for Capt John. We had an awesome day with him last week. Our group aged from 14 to 72. Snorkeled Waterlemon then to Sandy Spit, on to Taboo for lunch, then ended at Soggy. A perfect day!

If you have 6 or less people in your group, Palm Tree seems to be the hands down favorite.

If you have more than 6 in your group, I would highly recommend Born to Rhumb with Captain Kevin.

We loved the guys at Lion in The Sun. We had a wonderful day starting at Waterlemon, going on to the Baths, the Caves, the Indians and of course the Willy -T. We will use them again every year and recommend them with out reservation. Great guys.

okay. I love all the suggestions. But there are only TWO of us and to pay over $500 is not an option. So what are your SECOND choices????

I've done Calypso a few times when we had a small group, and it is a ton of fun. Full bar from the start, nice muffins and fruit and that sort of breakfast, drinks flowed all day long, a nice snorkel, lunch at Foxy's, and then White Bay for the rest of the afternoon. Very, very, nice crew on each trip with them. Very nice, well cared for catamaran. You will be with a group of strangers, but we always made new friends in a party like atmosphere. It's not a booze cruise of 20 somethings, but people of all ages and levels of party skills.

P.S. I remember one particular afternoon, quite a few folks hung around in the water at the back of the boat, to get the free drinks instead of buying them. I guess it saved a lot of $$ depending on how much you want to drink. I'm not sure if they still do that.

For only 2 people you should consider joining a small mixed group on one of the medium sized boats like Pirates Penny or Stormy Petrel which max out at 12 passengers and often go with less - although they are based in Red Hook I have seen often them pickup in Cruz Bay and they have to stop there for Customs anyway on the way home.
Very professional crew and well kept vessels.
Certainly people have posted here on the forum and tried to put together a few more people so they can charter their own boat and share the cost - you harm in trying that too.
